I ran for office in 2018 for State House 46 and in 2020 for State Senate.
I ran so that people would have a choice of two different candidates. I lost those races, but I did accomplish my goal of giving the citizens the choice of a candidate that was distinctively different from the other ones in those races. The candidates had political pedigrees but lacked the conservative values of many in our community.
Wahiawa has approximately 45 churches. To my knowledge the voting records and beliefs of the two candidates I ran against were not consistent with most of the people living in the districts. One of the candidates said to me, “people don’t care about ideology, they just want their sidewalks fixed.”
My interest in political office isn’t to start a new career or as a stepping stone to something else but its to give the average citizen influence in their government.
HB1697, listed below is a prime example of special interest running government policy not the citizen. HB1697 supports a specific ideological worldview that is foreign to most parents and can only be construed as indoctrination when used in the classroom.

When I noticed one of the introducers, I could no longer sit on the sidelines.
Why would Representative Perruso, our current representative of State House district 46, vote for something clearly not in the interest of students or parents?
The majority of people in our community strongly oppose what would be called “sexual grooming” were it to be taking place between an adult and a minor outside of the classroom.
It is advocating a sexual free for all agenda on a sensitive subject for children when they’re most vulnerable to manipulation. It doesn’t take into account any of the parents expressed wish’s and further opens the door for pornography and questionable expressions of sexuality to children as young as preschool.
Nothing is more damaging to the trusting relationship between loving parents and their children then for schools to be expressing divisive opinions counter to the parents standards.
Opinions so divisive they have to be mandated by the force of LAW!
Our public schools are already rank in the lower end of education achievement by national comparison.
This is not a step for improving the futures of our children by teaching a “Woke Social Agenda” at the expense of Music, Arts, Athletics, or all the things which prepare the next generation for healthy and productive lives.
There is so much work to be done in our schools that this should take a much more minor role and not lose sight of the standards of education for our pupils.
If elected I will only support issues that is in the best interest of children and their parents.
